Major Project Experience
- Part of a company-wide team to manage the divestiture of thousands of properties across the country for a global energy company. Assisted with the planning and implementation of Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments according to rigid schedules, budgets and safety requirements. Some of the specific tasks accomplished include:
- Financial management
- Project milestones tracking using a QMG-created
database
- Reviewing reports
- Interfacing with the technical consultants and
regulators in each specific market
- Supporting technical consultants in the field
- Conducting safety audits in the field
- Information flow management via a web-based
SharePoint site
- Interfacing weekly with the client management
team to report progress in each market
- Managed environmental remediation projects resulting in savings of more than $5 million over three years. Work included remedial investigations, feasibility studies, design and implementation of remedial measures, as well as negotiation of consent orders
and settlements with EPA and state offices.
- Conducted ESH compliance audits for business acquisitions and divestitures, as well as manfacturing and office closures, to define risks and develop appropriate reserves.
- Managed acquistion of computer software company which included carrying out due diligence audits, defining compliance issues, establishing reserves and compliance budgets, carrying out company integration and closing several offices.
- Managed divestiture of two pharmaceutical chemical plants, which included defining environmental liabilities and establishing reserves. Successful resolution of suit initiated by purchaser that resulted in savings of $20M.
- Conducted ESH compliance and management system audits at domestic and international facilities.
- Prepared global site–by–site analysis of key environmental risks (nuclear and non–nuclear) for company board. Document used in sale of business.
- Managed site investigations of a chemical plant in Sweden that provided sufficient information to initiate suit against original owner.
- Managed investigations of manufacturing plants both domestically and internationally.
- Developed and implemented global environmental management program for two pharmaceutical companies resulting in improved ESH commitment and performance as measured by corporate audits.
- Managed $30M Superfund contract including budgets, schedules, deliverables and multidisciplinary staff of 50 engineers and scientists. Success led to receipt of new $200M contract from EPA. Received company award for successful management of the contract.
- Managed closure of RCRA incinerator. Documents submitted and approved by EPA with no comments.
