Major Project Experience

  • Over twenty-five years of experience in managing both large and small environmental investigation and remediation projects for commercial clients and government agencies.
  • Project Manager for the publicly-bid remedial design and construction oversight for the remediation, asbestos abatement, decontamination, and demolition of a brownfields site.
  • Client Manager for environmental services contract for a major transportation entity. Managed over 20 projects annually for a three year contract. Projects include site investigations, remedial investigations, due diligence for construction, remedial action work plan preparation, compliance monitoring, and remedial actions.
  • Project Manager for remedial investigation and remedial actions at a former drum reconditioning and chemical plant brownfield site. Implemented soil remediation and capping of 13-acre site, which was redeveloped into a mail handling facility.
  • Project Manager for remedial investigation and remedial actions in support of site redevelopment. Implemented soil remediation, underground storage tank removal, and capping of site, which enabled the site to be redeveloped into a large car service and dealership.
  • Project Manager for numerous brownfields investigations for major cities in New Jersey: eight sites in Newark, four sites in Hackensack, two sites in Jersey City, one site in Mahwah, and one site in Piscataway. Obtained State grant funding for conducting the investigation work. Conducted preliminary assessments and site investigations at the abandoned former manufacturing facilities, including due diligence reviews and investigations of soil, groundwater, building interiors, sediment, and surface water. Conducted remedial investigations at three sites.
  • Project Manager for remedial investigation and remedial action for a bulk petroleum storage facility under NJDEP ISRA program. Completed design-build soil remediation activities, including remediation along an active rail spur, and obtained NJDEP no further action.
  • Conducted remedial actions at a chromium-contaminated site in Jersey City. Project manager for the design and permitting of a groundwater extraction and treatment design, including recovery wells, underground force main piping, and treatment plant modifications to accommodate additional groundwater flow and amended groundwater composition. Project manager for construction services which included onsite observation and construction quality assurance/quality control.
  • Project Manager for numerous feasibility studies for remediation of contaminated sites, including State and Federal Superfund sites. Prepared feasibility studies for: a gear manufacturer, three inactive hazardous waste sites, a fireman’s training facility, a solid and hazardous waste landfill, two federal Superfund sites with radiological contamination, and a former manufactured gas plant site
  • Client Manager for environmental services contract for a major municipal housing entity. Projects included: asbestos abatement for roof rehabilitation, underground storage tank removal, mold remediation, lead abatement, and environmental due diligence.
  • Managed numerous underground storage tank (UST) projects, including: removal of 60 USTs at 37 pump station sites and three wastewater treatment plants; tank removal and replacement with a new 30,000-gallon tank and heating system at a major food manufacturer; and a leaking UST investigation/remediation of a gasoline UST.
  • Project Manager for site feasibility investigations for environmental and geotechnical feasibility for constructing a new school on a property that included three former manufacturing sites and over 60 residential properties. Investigations included site investigations, geotechnical investigations, and environmental assessments. Presented findings at several community meetings.
  • Conducted pre-construction due diligence at ten sites for determining appropriate construction work protection measures, and classifying contaminated soil for appropriate waste disposal.
  • Managed the publicly-bid design and construction oversight of capping a 17-acre municipal solid waste landfill.
  • Project Manager for landfill gas mitigation project conducted on a 60-acre brownfields site, to accommodate multi-unit residential redevelopment. The work included remedial design and construction oversight of a subsurface vapor mitigation system.
  • Managed/conducted nine years of annual inspections of aboveground storage tanks for over 90 tanks at 10 power generating stations.
